Khara The Game

Overview​

ROLE:  Level Designer

​

Khara it’s an third person adventure/action game with touches of platforms and puzzles, were you take control of Khara that is the last one of the Atlantis so for this reason she have the power to control water, so all our mechanics are related to water control, from movement mechanics to combat mechanics.

 

Khara must enter the Atlantis islands, discover her origins and fulfil her Destiny.

Our world game it’s all related to the Atlantis history, originally the stories tells that the Atlantis was build by 3 concentric rings surrounding the volcano that was the center of the Atlantis.

  • Beautiful enviroment, “Best Art” 2016 award gained on the Sony PlayStation Awards of Spain.

  • Fight incredibles colossus bosses.

  • Unique water control mechanics.

Khara The Game - Gameplay trailer

  • Investigate and search for references to design the world and environment of the game.

​

  • Design the Layout of the game, as well as game feel, define level progression, enemy encounters, narrative moments, environmental storytelling, puzzles, challenges, etc.

​

  • Create the Blockout of the levels from the previous designed and defined Layouts and script them with the help of the Technical Designer so the level can be playable on Unreal Engine 4.

​

  • Work closely with Art Department to make sure they fit the visual style of the levels with the previous designed concepts of the levels and make sure the high quality of the game until the end of the production of the level.

Level Flow

  • As you can see with this distribution, we create a gameplay world divided by 3 levels that were the 3 different islands that forms the Atlantis.

​

  • Every each level was constituted by 3 different temples custodied by 3 different colossus bosses:

    • Level 1: Minothaur

    • Level 2: Leviathan

    • Level 3: Poseidon

​

  • All levels were designed to have some balances between Enemy acounters with puzzle and platform moments.
